I can’t afford to buy my government. If I could, it would look a hell of a lot different from the dystopian mess we’re currently watching spiral out of control. As it stands, I can barely afford the price of eggs. So something as small as a drop-in yoga class seems like a luxury best avoided for the time being.
If you’re feeling tired and frugal, too (or maybe you just don’t wanna leave the house right now—that’s fair), the yoga class below is for you. Subscribe for more.
If you try the practice out, do as much or as little as you like. Change, adapt or skip anything that doesn’t feel right. Go at your own pace. Ramp it up or tone it down. Don’t force your body into anything. Be kind to yourself. Yoga isn’t a performance. It’s a practice that helps us be more present.

45 Minutes Hatha Yoga: Heading Toward Half Moon
Warm up and build gradually toward ardha chandrasana in a way that may feel interesting and accessible.
Feeling the weight of it all?
The state of the world right now is scary and tiring. Frequently, I feel like I’ll burst into tears. Weirdly enough, anytime the floodgates actually crack open, they close almost as quickly—full-on sobbing for less than the time you’d hold downward dog in a typical yoga class. Then back to cleaning paint brushes or scooping the litter box.
One thing I’m finding helpful is listening to a “good news” podcast like 5 Good News Stories as a morning news chaser.
It’s hard to stay present. It’s hard not to be swept away by anxiety or fear for the future. And at the same time, I know it’s important to breathe fully and be where I am right now. To feel the okay-ness that is here. To make more art. To turn on disco music and dance around the kitchen with my cats and my partner.
creativity fuels hope and sparks change
Fear shuts down creativity, but creativity fuels hope and sparks change. And things need to change. So make something. Sing a song. Dance with your cat. Scrape up every bit of hope wherever you can find it.
P.S. Please feel free to use my yoga videos even if you disagree with my views. No need to pout just because you’re wrong. ;)
